Call for New Maintainer for External Editor
External Editor is two pieces of software: a client side browser "plug in" application that launches editing processes (Word, Excel, vim, emacs, whatever) and a server-side component for Zope that allows developers to inject links into pages that will trigger the client side application when they're clicked. It needs a new maintainer.
I have been maintaining the venerable External Editor Zope product originally written by Casey Duncan for several years now. Lately, however, I have not maintaining it very well. I took over its maintenance because it was essential for it to get new features and continue operating due to customer requirements at the time, but those requirements have come and gone. I didn't even make the last release (0.9.3), it was done by Sidnei DaSilva. So I beg of someone: please take its maintainership off my hands. To do so, you'll likely need to do the following:
- Create a web presence for the product
- Create a bug tracker for the product and import existing bugs from the Plope bugtracker
- Commit to making bugfixes
- Commit to making and distributing new releases
Please let me (chrism@plope.com) know if you're willing to do this, and the honor will be mine to hand it over.

I won't be moving it as other folks still work on it there (somewhat to my suprise, Hannosch just made some changes and tagged an alpha there!).
I suppose I'm more just asking for someone to put up a web presence and track releases and bug reports so I can stop doing that.
